The path of knowing oneself and one’s own abilities is perhaps the most fascinating journey that a person can take in life. Practices of harmonious movement towards oneself and the surrounding world are united under the general name – yoga. Yoga as a philosophical trend has many currents, one of which is hatha yoga.

Hatha yoga is the initial step in the practice of yoga, which allows you to learn your own abilities, learn how to control internal energy flows, harmonize life. The history of the Indian system of teachings on the self-knowledge of hatha yoga has its roots in antiquity and has several millennia.

According to Eastern teachings, the human body consists of two opposite principles – male and female, which are associated with active and passive energy flows. They are also commonly called Yin and Yang. So the name “Hatha Yoga” consists of the syllable “Ha”, which is translated from Sanskrit as active energy or breath, and from the syllable “Tha” which in Sanskrit means passive energy or exhalation. “Ha” is solar breath, while “Tha” is associated with the breath of the moon. The very concept of yoga in Sanskrit means “unity” or “union”. Accordingly, hatha yoga is a harmonious union of two principles: the active progressive energy of the sun and the passive negative energy of the moon. Hatha yoga is also associated with the concept of dynamic contemplation.

The goal of hatha yoga practices is laid in its name and is to teach a person to harmoniously combine positive and regressive energies, find a point of internal balance that allows you to be alert and cheerful without tension and at the same time to be contemplative and calm without apathy and laziness. In other words, a person learns to be collected inside and relaxed outside (in the body).
