Classes for beginners are good and that you will not require special training and flexibility. Do not think that you will definitely need to bend into a ram’s horn or sit in a lotus position in the first lesson. None of this needs to be done. Yoga is, first of all, proper breathing and the development of muscle flexibility, and this can be achieved through simple exercises at home on the mat.
Where to start? Of course, it is best to work with a trainer or in a group, but if you do not have such an opportunity, it is not scary. You can easily master the basics of yoga yourself. The main thing here is to acquire quality materials for study. Let it be an atlas with photos of sequential asanas, and even better – a video course. The fact is that all yoga poses, even those that seem the most elementary and light, require correct execution in the smallest details. Namely, these details are just difficult for a beginner to catch. That’s why at first you should watch a video or arrange a couple of lessons with an instructor. Then, when all the intricacies of the exercises will become clear to you, you can easily do them yourself, without any help.
The main thing in yoga is the right attitude. No exercise should be performed through force or through pain. This, by the way, is good for homework – you can completely control the load that you need and stop at the right time. In addition, you will have a unique opportunity to regulate not only the number and intensity of the exercises, but also set your own special rhythm. You don’t have to adapt to the trainer or be bored, waiting for all members of the group to finish the exercise. At home you are your own boss.
Buy yourself a special suit for classes or highlight some comfortable clothes. Remember that if you exercise at home, the quality of your workout should in no case suffer from this. You continue to perform the same exercises, withstand the necessary time and do everything exactly as if you were engaged in the gym. It should be in your thoughts, and in your appearance and in your mood.
